Interception

Andrew ‘Drew’ Joseph lives the life most people dream of, a Sports Agents replete with an A-List clientele and all the trappings success brings. There is never a shortage of professional sports players soliciting his services; especially those that require a broken moral compass.

Neveah and Gianna, the two closest friends in Drew’s life, are roommates whose relationship is tenuous at best. Neveah, an unflinching gold digger looking for the first ticket to Easy Street, finds herself in conflict with Gianna who would much rather live a quiet anonymous existence. Each has their pasts, secrets, and pains to work through.

Stepping off the elevator, walking into the magnificent decor, and triple A-list of professional athletics who’s who, none of our trio is ready for what is about to be unleashed as they each are unwittingly thrown onto the playing field, forced to win or go home.

Kickoff

Drew looked around the expansive ballroom admiring his handiwork. He smiled seeing several of his high commission clients laughing and joking with the potentials he invited to the black and white affair. Huge glistening chandeliers encompassed the room, making the ice sculptures glisten in their wake. The zebra patterned window treatments, and accessories added a touch of the wild; both dressing up and dressing down the room simultaneously.

Andrew ‘Drew’ Joseph was one the country’s most sought after sports agents. He commanded and got huge endorsement and product line contracts for his top end NFL clients. He represented a few NBA and NHL stars as well, but Drew’s bread and butter came from the men of the gridiron. He sipped his champagne as the elevator doors opened and he saw the women disembark. Smiling, Drew headed toward the two beautiful women removing champagne flutes from the server’s tray.

“I was beginning to think you stood me up.”

His eyes never left Gianna as he teased them. Neváyah spoke first, stepping between him and Gianna.

“You know we had to make an entrance Drew, don’t act new.”

Drew sighed lightly before smiling again and addressing her, sarcasm tinging his voice.

“And how are you tonight, Neváyah?”

“Looking good and ready to catch myself a baller.”

Drew sighed again before doing a general wave.

“Room is full of them.”

It was hard masking his irritation when he talked to her sometime.

Drew remained friends with Neváyah since college. Intelligent with a master’s degree in multinational finance, Neváyah’s problem was laziness. She didn’t want to work for anything, settling for getting by on her looks and figure. Her goal, trying to catch and secure a six plus figure income husband.

“You looking for a baller too, Gianna?”

Gianna gave him a look causing him to burst into laughter.

“I’m looking for some Cowboys.”

Drew continued to smile at her answer. He liked Gianna. She was straightforward, smart, sexy, and entrancing, all at once. He slyly looked her over in the black and white after six cocktail dress, loving every inch of the curvaceous frame. She let her hair down tonight, the loose spirals, lying gently on her face. Drew loved the soft fawn coloring, fighting the urge to reach out and brush the errant curl from her face. It hid the beautiful brown eyes that always seemed to be reading his thoughts. Gianna was also a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. Drew gave her props. She knew the game, all the plays, players, rules, penalties, and stats. It wasn’t just show for her.

“There are a few here. I’ll take you to meet some of them.”

“Thank you.”

“Mmhm, well point me to the single, eligible, ballers.”

With her statement, Neváyah pushed her breasts up even higher in the dress.

Drew chuckled shaking his head pointing her in the direction closest to the bar watching her switch her way across the floor, commanding immediate attention once she arrived and climbed onto a bar stool.

Drew’s mind tumbled as he and Gianna began to circulate around the room meeting various players, gathering autographs. He couldn’t figure her out. Pleasant and amiable, Gianna didn’t date. Drew couldn’t recall in the three years since she and Neváyah became roommates, her having a man or even a friend with benefits. He took the unusual step of asking Neváyah point blank if Gianna were gay. She quickly corrected him, saying her roommate was very private.

Drew wanted to try to get close to her, date her, definitely make love to her. Her persona spoke sexy in any language scripted. Gianna nudged him, breaking his thought as she spoke aloud.

“Thanks for the badge too.”

“You’re welcome.”

Everyone who attended the party wore the hanging ID badge. He emblazoned the Cowboys star on hers.

“I see you signed Sean Perrington.”

Drew smiled again, loving how knowledgeable she was about what he did. Perrington was a hot commodity. A first round draft pick this year.

“Yeah, got him a couple endorsements already too.”

Gianna smiled.

“I’m impressed.”

Julian walked up to the couple taking Gianna in.

“You’re holding out on a brutha Drew.”

Slightly irritated with the intrusion, Drew quickly gathered himself and introduced the two. Gianna nodded, acknowledging him before starting a conversation.

“You play what position?”

“Wide receiver, with the Baltimore Ravens.”

*****

“Damn, that dress is wearing the hell outta you.” Brayden spoke his mind to Neváyah giving her a look as he ordered another shot of Patrôn.

She smiled, and he knew he held her attention. Introducing himself, Brayden told her he was receiver for the Washington Redskins, all the while taking in the two C-cups staring back at him. Her dress left little to the imagination, solid black with a thigh high split. He found himself getting an erection and immediately changed his thoughts. Neváyah chuckled, introducing herself.

“Damn, don’t let my girl hear that. I’m Nah-vay-uh.”

She enunciated her name. She hated it when people messed it up or called her Nivea. Finally, explaining Gianna’s devotion to the Cowboys, he laughed with her.

“What about you?”

Neváyah took him in pondering his question and hoped he was locked into a lucrative multi-year contract. She loved the smooth dark chocolate covering lean frame, toned and buffed where it counted. Brayden heralded beautiful dark brown eyes and a smile that could give the sun a run for its money. Quickly looking at his hands, the long, well-manicured fingers had Neváyah’s thong moist with anticipation.

“I’m more an observer than supporter.”

Brayden smiled again at her answer.

“Maybe spending some time with me would change your position, hmm?”

He already planned internally how many different ways he wanted to sex her tonight.

“You look like you could be pretty persuasive.”

Neváyah, no amateur to flirting, jumped right in.

Brayden looked her over another time before finding her eyes, the words floating from his lips.

“You have no idea.”

Neváyah smiled again as Brayden ordered her a shot of Patrôn to match his and they continued to talk. I am going to bang this trick silly tonight. He gently kissed her cheek telling Neváyah how lucky he was to have met her.

This one is a keeper and I am going to definitely enjoy that black card he keeps flashing. She smiled reaching out gently caressing his chest.

*****

“It is nice to meet you Julian.”

Julian smiled, taking the woman in again now that he stared into her eyes. She is gorgeous.

“It’s nice to meet you as well. I’ll try and ignore that star you’re wearing.”

She raised an eyebrow and Drew smiled somewhat.

“You don’t have to ignore it. Embrace it, love it, envy it.”

Julian burst into laughter at her declaration.

“You are definitely a Cowboys fan.”

“Thank you.”

She excused herself to the ladies’ room leaving the two men alone. Julian immediately began fishing for information.

“How long have you two been kicking it?”

Truthfully, he hoped Drew and the woman were only friends. Gianna intrigued him. He saw her arrive with the other one his boy Brayden was setting up for the evening. She acted nothing like her friend.

“Gianna and I are cool.”

“What does that mean? Are you with her or not?”

Drew opened his mouth not sure what he wanted to say when one of his assistants came and interrupted the conversation, telling him he was needed immediately. Excusing himself without answering Julian’s question he breathed a slight sigh of relief and walked away. Gianna returned moments later as Julian smiled and greeted her once more.

“Drew deserted you I am afraid.”

Gianna chuckled.

“It’s cool, I’m a big girl.”

“Are you and Drew dating?”

He wanted an answer from one of them.

“That’s a pretty personal question, don’t you think?”

Julian sighed casually, before responding.

“Yes, but I don’t want to be standing here infatuated with, and making plans to get to know, a woman who is already taken.”

Gianna smiled a touch.

Julian was an attractive man Gianna admitted internally; sexy caramel, tall, and thick in all the right places. He was articulate and so far, a complete gentleman.

“Drew and I are not dating.”

Her answer put Julian far more at ease.

“I will be in town for the next week. Do you think we could get together, have lunch, dinner maybe?”

Normally he would be doing the same thing as Brayden. Finding himself some quick throw-a-way sex for the evening. Meeting her changed that momentarily. There was something about Gianna that struck a chord in him, actually recalling his grandmother’s words about knowing you’ve struck gold the moment you see the mine.

Gianna frowned somewhat, and Julian pressed a bit more, not wanting to hear the no he saw on her face.

“No strings, Gianna. I would just like to share a meal and talk.”

Gianna’s face remained expressionless as she thought over his request. She held her own reasons for not dating, and an athlete was not on her list of suitable potentials.

“Maybe.”

Julian smiled graciously accepting the answer.

He gave her his cell number and left the ball in her court. Drew returned seconds later, whisking her away to meet more Cowboys players.

Flag on the Play

Gianna did her morning workout with fear and trepidation. She didn’t get home from the Bistro with Julian until almost midnight the other evening. Keandré was MIA from the gym for the last couple of days, but Gianna was constantly looking over her shoulder. She prayed he was bluffing when he talked of coming to her house. Showered and refreshed, she walked out into the hallway heading for the exit when luck ran out.

“What’s good sexy?”

Keandré leaned against the wall, obviously waiting for her.

“Hi Keandré.”

Gianna prayed she could escape his advances yet another day.

“You mad?”

“No.”

She hoped it was what he wanted to hear.

Keandré stepped closer, putting his arms around her waist holding her.

“I’m sorry baby.”

The sweet tone made Gianna’s head spin. She had no clue what in the world he was talking about.

“It’s okay.”

Keandré smiled just a touch.

“Some baby mama bullshit drama came up, and I just couldn’t get there.”

The light finally came on for her. Gianna breathed a short sigh of relief, which Keandré immediately mistook for irritation.

“I promise it won’t happen again baby.”

He remained very much lost in the delusion that Gianna was the least bit attracted to him.

“Forgive me?”

Gianna nodded as he smiled fully.

“That’s my girl.”

Keandré took her gym bag from her.

“Let’s go eat, you ought to be good and hungry.”

Not waiting for an answer as he put his arm around her waist and began walking forward.

Gianna swallowed hard but said nothing as she allowed him to walk her to the front door. She almost did cartwheels seeing his boys waiting anxiously beyond the glass. Gianna could tell by the expressions something was very wrong. Hopefully she wouldn’t have to lie her way out of yet another sticky situation with him.

“Hold up for a minute baby. Let me go see what’s up.”

Nodding again, she sat on one of the benches beside the front door and watched as Keandré went outside the door swinging shut behind him.

Gianna couldn’t hear what was being said, but it wasn’t good. Keandré sported a deep frown, his hand animated as he voiced his displeasure to his boys. Without warning the police cruiser pulled up to the curb. The officer said something to the men assembled. His partner got out of the car and walked around it, now addressing the men himself as the passenger also exited the vehicle. The officers obviously asked for identification as several of the men produced driver’s license or state issued ID cards. One of the group however decided to not comply with the request, instead standing his ground defiantly as the officers grew increasingly agitated. Gianna supposed they grew tired of harassing the men and finally issued some sort of verbal reprimand before returning to their car, pulling away from the curb moments later. She saw Keandré say something to the defiant one who nodded slightly. Turning back to the gym he came inside and sat next to her, taking Gianna’s hands in his own.

“I got to go handle some business baby.”

Keandré remorse shone obvious.

“It’s okay.”

“Nah, it ain’t okay, and I’m going to make this shit up to you for real baby.”

Gianna chose to remain quiet not delaying his departure or her liberation.

“Give me your number.”

Reluctantly Gianna provided her cell number, making mental note not to answer any unknown numbers. She really did have to figure a way out of this make-believe relationship before Keandré went off the deep end for real.

“Call you later when I’m done with this shit, and we’ll hook up.”

Keandré locked the number in, pulling her to her feet.

“Have a good day baby, stay out of trouble.”

Hugging her one final time, he turned going back outside, leaving with his boys.

*****

Drew’s fury persisted even now, days later, at the stunt Julian pulled. He was yet unable to get Gianna alone since. They both held hectic schedules and kept missing each other. Call her now. Drew picked up his cell and dialed her number.

“Hello.”

The sweet voice brought a smile to his face.

“Hey Gianna. How are you this morning?”

“I’m fine, just leaving the gym.”

“Cool, You want to hook up for breakfast?”

“Sounds good, where do you want to meet?”

Drew quickly gave her the name of the restaurant and its location.

“Okay, I should be there in about 30 minutes.”

“Great, see you there.”

He had to make a move, and soon. Julian was yet another in a long line of complications. They seemed to arise every time he was close to disclosing his feelings for Gianna or gauging hers for him.

“Not this morning.”

Showering, his mind began to replay the steamy dream from last night. Drew sighed deeply seeing her nude body lying on his silk sheets, the creamy caramel of her skin in harmonious compliment with the crème coloring of the sheets and pillowcases. He saw himself once again sucking her hard nipples as Gianna moaned softly, holding his head in place, gently caressing his cheek. Drew saw his other hand slide down her firm stomach and disappear between her sexy thighs as she opened her legs allowing his entrance. Her moans increased when Drew’s fingers found her hard clit and began massaging lovingly. He could feel her temperature rising. He switched breasts sucking the other nipple. Gianna’s sex began to flow freely, drenching his sheets. Drew slid two fingers inside her, sensuously moving them in and out as she came hard. Drew withdrew his fingers, licking them while she watched, fire in her eyes.

Kissing his way down her stomach, Drew’s tongue connected with her clit. Gianna opened wider crying out how good he was. He sucked her clit vigorously, rolling his tongue around the tiny erection, his fingers once again inside her tight opening. “Drew, yes,” he heard Gianna breathe as she came another time. He greedily lapped her finish. She moaned softly now, satisfaction evident. Drew decided it was time to be inside her. He gently licked her body, making his way to her beautiful lips. Gianna readily accepted the kiss, his tongue dancing wildly with her own as Drew’s hard, swollen, member slid deeply inside her. Hitting her g-spot he began moving slowly in and out of her. “Damn Drew,” His pace began to increase. Her walls spasm around his member, gripping him tightly keeping him encased in her creamy, wet, center. “Gianna waited so long baby,” Drew whispered in her ear feeling his end nearing. She wrapped her legs around his waist. Drew went deeper and harder, bringing her quickly to another powerful orgasm, her sex contracting. His end finally arrived, and Drew groaned loudly. The rush of his finish emptied inside her while they kissed softly. He continued breathing hard. Opening his eyes, he reached orgasm in the shower, absently stroking his now semi-hard member. Please let her be feeling me, like I’m feeling her. Drew gathered himself, finishing his shower before dressing to meet Gianna for breakfast.

*****

“Surprise!”

Madelyn smiled brightly when Julian sleepily opened the door. His eyes snapped open seeing the woman standing in front of him.

“You’re surprised speechless!”

Coming inside without invitation and dropping her bag by the door she continued to chuckle. Julian frowned deeply his back to her while he closed the door. Why is she here, fuck. Forcing the smile, he turned around and greeted her.

“Why didn’t you call baby?”

Madelyn being here would to ruin all the headway he made with Gianna. Truthfully, Julian had an epiphany in his pursuit of Gianna. He wasn’t in love with Madelyn like he tried to convince himself. He wanted to be free of her.

“Well if I called, then it wouldn’t be a surprise silly.”

She smiled that stupid smile he hated, but pretended he loved.

Julian couldn’t believe how cruel fate was being. He finally found a woman that embodied everything he ever asked. Now the devil herself had shown up to wreck it for him.

“How did you get my room number?”

He never gave it to her. Since she wasn’t coming he could think of no plausible reason she should need it.

“Oh, I called Drew and he gave it to me.”

Madelyn calmly relayed the information, starting to undress.

Julian was livid. Muthafucka! He could see the grin on the agents face as he gave Madelyn the room number. Drew knew it would effectively end any contact with Gianna. Julian was determined though. Some way, somehow, he was going to get rid of Madelyn and continue to spend time with Gianna. They spent a wonderful evening at the Bistro, laughing and enjoying the karaoke performers. He even managed to talk her into coming on stage with him being Tina to his Ike as they sang one of their hits. I can’t let her get away. Now naked Madelyn stepped to him, kissing his chest softly.

“I missed you baby.”

Julian again fought the urge to frown. Sighing evenly, he forced his thoughts off Gianna, allowing his manhood to have its way. Madelyn sank to her knees gobbling his growing erection.

Bringing him to full attention, Madelyn smiled at her handiwork and pulled him to the king-sized bed, pushing him onto it. Julian smiled a little. She kissed his lips, climbing atop him.

“I need you so bad.”

“Wait, let me get a condom.”

She gave him a quizzical look.

“We don’t use condom’s Julian.”

Her eyes narrowed slightly.

“Is there something you need to tell me?”

She stood beside the bed, hands on her hips.

“No, don’t start.”

His erection began to wane.

“Don’t start?! We’ve been dating for months and sexing like crazy, but now suddenly you want to use a condom?”

Madelyn took a small breath, then resumed the rant.

“You’re messing around on me, aren’t you?!”

Pulling out the tears she became even more dramatic.

Julian, completely flaccid now, rose from bed putting on his shorts.

“I am not going to fight with you today.”

Grabbing the almost empty bottle of cognac, he poured himself a shot. It didn’t matter that it was only 10:45AM. Julian needed something to calm his nerves.

“You’re going to tell me the damned truth Julian!”

“Just leave me alone Madelyn, hell!”

She slapped him hard across the face.

“Fuck you Julian, I don’t have to put up with your bullshit!”

Grabbing her own clothes, she hastily dressed.

“Good, take your stupid ass back to Baltimore!”

Pissed about the slap, he crossed the line.

“I didn’t ask your flat ass to come here in the first place!”

Madelyn’s eyes tapered, and her face turned deep crimson, reacting to the insult.

“Whatever, you asshole!”

Heading for the door, Madelyn hurled a few choice words of her own.

“By the way stud, Brayden’s dick is bigger, his tongue is longer, and he fucks way better than your tired ass.”

Madelyn walked out of the door and slammed it.

Julian threw the bottle at the closed door, shattering it once it contacted with the unyielding plaster wall.

“Nasty ass white bitch.”

Forcing himself to relax, stung by the declaration, Julian realized he was once again free to pursue Gianna without interference. He smiled at that thought deciding to take a shower then call her. The loud knock at the door startled him. Julian sighed deeply hoping it was Madelyn again.

“Julian Wyatt?”

This was a nightmare he didn’t need. The uniformed officer eyed him calmly.

Nodding slightly yes, Julian got a very bad feeling in his gut about the purpose of his visit.

“Sir, I am going to have to ask you to come with me.”

Julian immediately tensed.

“Why?”

“Sir, there has been a complaint called in about a domestic incident and the woman says she was assaulted.”

Julian frowned deeply.

Madelyn’s revenge no doubt. He knew the police would immediately believe her claim without even getting his side of the story.

“I never touched her.”

The man nodded slightly.

“Sir, we have to investigate the allegation, I’m sorry.”

He saw enough domestic cases to know real from fake, genuinely believing the man. Still it was his job to act upon any complaint called in.

“Can I get dressed?”

The officer nodded, following him inside the room as he quickly threw on his jeans and polo shirt. Grabbing his wallet and cell phone, Julian told the officer he was ready. They both walked out of the door headed for the elevator.
